“Losing Control” for Philadelphia Theatrical Release

What if you could use science to find true love?

PHILADELPHIA, May 15, 2012 – Jenna Communications announced today that a local writer and director is bringing her romantic comedy to town this Friday, May 18 at the Landmark Ritz at the Bourse.

Join us as Valerie Weiss, a Philadelphia native who currently resides in Los Angeles, shares with us her film LOSING CONTROL. She recently won the Top Female Filmmaker of 2011 Award from the Chicago Comedy Film Festival.

Weiss crafted the movie from the notes she kept reflecting her own experiences in graduate school. While earning a Ph-D in X-ray Crystallography at Harvard Medical School, she learned not only about science, but also about love. This is what inspired her to create the film and bring it here to the City of Brotherly Love.

“While I was in grad school I wondered what would happen if a woman in her 20’s could understand science and use it to her advantage in gaining control of her love life,” Weiss explains. “It made me wonder what if you could use your brain to make sure you have an everlasting romance.”

LOSING CONTROL reflects just that. It tells the story of a young scientific genius who not only is striving to produce results from her long-term experiment, but also from her long-term boyfriend. By performing the scientific method on more than just her research, she does everything she can to prove that her boyfriend is “the one.” The cast members (including Miranda Kent and Reid Scott) are witty and talented and deliver Weiss’s dialogue exquisitely.

The film will be playing at the Landmark Ritz at the Bourse every day May 18-24 at 1:00PM, 3:00PM, 5:15PM, 7:30PM, and 9:45PM. Weiss will be holding a Q&A session after all weekend screenings and after the 7:30PM shows Friday through Wednesday. Cast members Jamison Yang, who plays Chen Wa, and Science Cheerleader Erin Donnelly will be at the 7:30PM show on Friday for the Q&A session.

For more details visit www.losingcontrolmovie.com.

If interested in receiving a press pass for the film, please RSVP to Jennifer Sherlock at jsherlock@jennacommunications.com with the subject line “Press Pass.”
