Event Recaps:

On Saturday, August 16, No Dog Gets Left Behind hosted a Dog Days of Summer event at North Penn VFW Post 676 in Glenside, Pa. Dozens of supporters, and their dogs, came out to rally around the charity’s newest initiative: Save a Dog Save a Veteran. In addition to raising $4,500 to bring a dog home from Afghanistan, No Dog Gets Left Behind has gone one step further to also cover all expenses for the dog to receive PTSD service training. Once certified, Betty (pictured below) will help a veteran in need. To help offset the cost of this new proposition, which translates to $13,000, PetSmart donated $10,000 to the organization at Dog Days of Summer. Catch event coverage from 6abc, CBS 3 and Patch.com.

On Tuesday, August 12, Jenna Communications president Jennifer Sherlock attended Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly Bash at Citizens Bank Park. The event featured food from Philly’s hottest restaurants, summer inspired cocktails, and a chance to go behind the scenes at Citizens Bank Park.

Casey Cares Foundation recently provided a special evening of fun to a Delaware County girl battling cystic fibrosis. On Thursday, August 20, Sierra M. went to Putt Putt Golf and Games in Clifton Heights with her family and friends for a minitiature golf outing. This night meant the world to Sierra because it gave her a little relief from her intense, daily treatments. Every day, Sierra has to wear an 18 lb. vest as part of her chest physical therapy for cystic fibrosis. This is just one example of how Casey Cares Foundation works to bring smiles throughout the entire year to children battling life threatening illnesses and their families. Catch a recap of the evening from Patch.com.

The month of September commemorates two very important causes: childhood cancer awareness and sickle cell awareness. To raise awareness for both urgent causes, Casey Cares Foundation has enlisted the help of members from our morning news crews. Look for Casey Cares mugs being proudly displayed throughout the month of September as anchors remind parents to take their children to annual checkups. For conditions like sickle cell and pediatric cancer, early detection is key.

We’d like to take a moment to wish our clients, families, friends and supporters a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. We hope you will close out summer 2014 with a bang!
