Event Recaps:

On Saturday, January 18, Hair O’ The Dog roared into 2014 with its 20th annual gala presented by Parx Casino. More than 1,800 partygoers packed the grand ballroom at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel to wag their tails off all night. This year’s event set a new entertainment precedent with a headlining act from DJ Havana Brown, the first-ever certified triple platinum artist to ever perform at Hair O’ The Dog. Additional live acts included sets from Philly’s hottest DJ’s, DJ Bizz and Perry Angelozzi, a performance by The Business, Bryen O’Boyle of Mr. Greengenes and Jade Starling. A portion of this year’s proceeds went to The Claddagh Fund, an organization founded by Dropkick Murphys frontman, Ken Casey, to support underfunded nonprofits that help underpriveleged children, veterans and those struggling with addictions. See coverage and more photos of the 20th annual Hair O’ The Dog from Upcomingevents.com, Philadelphia Magazine and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Jenna Communications’ president, Jennifer Sherlock presented at the US Youth Soccer Workshop on January 17 to an eager Friday morning crowd. This workshop was part of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention, which was held in Philadelphia for 2014. Jen’s presentation, Scoring Goals with Social Media: An Inside Look at Promoting Effectively gave soccer coaches many new ideas on how they could reach more potential players. Jen also answered a number of questions on the best ways to differentiate an organization across all social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.

During the week of January 20, Post Brother’s 260 South Broad property was one of the sites used by FOX for “So You Think You Can Dance” auditions. Hopeful contestants used the ground  level of 260 to warm up before they hit the main stage in the Merriam Theater as well as a space to conduct interviews with FOX’s production team about their experience.
