New Client Announcement:

We’re excited to announce we’re working with award winning country-rock singer, Doreen Taylor. Jenna Communications’ team will help get media exposure for Doreen’s new single, which raises funds for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). Event Recaps:

On Tuesday, July 15, Casey Cares Foundation hosted a Caring Connection Party at the Independence Seaport Museum on Penn’s Landing. Nearly 50 critically-ill children and their families came out to have fun on the boats at the museum and partake in a special pirate activity where they made “battle rattles”. Caring Connection Parties are held to bring smiles to children fighting life-threatening illnesses, and relieve them and their families from schedules packed with doctors appointments and hospital visits. Casey Cares Foundation works with more than 100 families from CHOP alone, as well as other local hospitals. See coverage of the Caring Connection Party HERE from 6abc’s Lisa Thomas-Laury, and catch an additional feature from KYW’s Mike DeNardo.

On Wednesday, July 16, the Jenna Communications team attended a live performance by Doreen Taylor held at the Independence National Historical Park and helped secure press to cover the event. Doreen performed her new single, “Colors of the USA”; however, this was more than just a concert. She used the backdrop of the Independence National Historical Park to announce her mission to connect young people with America’s national parks. All proceeds from “Colors of the USA” will be donated to the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) to raise awareness for this cause. See coverage of the event from NBC 10 and the Philadelphia Daily News.

Take me out to the ball game! We did just that, and for a good cause, too. The Delaware Valley Stroke Council held a Phillies Phunraising night at the game on July 22 vs. the Giants. While we may not have hung on for all 14 innings, everyone had a great time nonetheless. We can’t thank the Phillies enough for allowing us to arrange this evening, and are very grateful for their generous donation back to the Stroke Council from ticket proceeds.

On Fourth of July Weekend, BeachGlow took over the beach at Wildwood. More than 7,000 fans came out for the 8-hour concert, which featured a live performance from renowned duo DVBBS. BeachGlow raised $40,000 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. See coverage of the EDM festival from NBC 40 and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Agency & Client Updates:

Miss Pennsylvania United States 2014, Khari Siegfried, finished in the top five at the Miss United States Pageant in Washington, D.C. on July 6. Khari raises adoption awareness for her service platform, a cause that is deeply personal to her. When Khari was a baby, she was adopted, but her road to becoming Miss Pennsylvania took an interesting twist when she ended up meeting her birth family for the first time at her crowning. You can see more of her story online from Parade Magazine.

No Dog Gets Left Behind was recently featured on CBS 3 because the organization supports war dogs coming home and being reunited with their handlers. CBS spoke with Chris Shields, nephew of No Dog Gets Left Behind’s founder, Trish Gohl. Chris was interviewed by CBS because he supports the growing movement to make the process easier for military members to adopt their working dogs after the dogs are retired from active duty. Chris adopted Branco after the two were deployed together in Afghanistan. Click HERE to see the full story.
