“SupplyStream” Empowers Trinity to be the First of its Kind to Forever Change the Packaging Industry

Voorhees, NJ- June 1, 2023Trinity Packaging Supply (Trinity) launched software to disrupt the wholesale packaging supply industry by helping businesses find the lowest cost options instantly instead of waiting for reps to call you back days later. Just as Airbnb and Uber changed the hospitality and transportation industries, this first-of-its-kind software is disrupting the $200 billion packaging industry. Trinity is a trailblazer in its industry, taking thinking outside the box to a whole new level.

Trinity, powered by SupplyStream, is proprietary software that aggregates hundreds of supplier catalogs to create one main e-commerce storefront without needing to put capital into inventory, warehousing, or distribution. Trinity standardizes data, allowing it to have multiple suppliers per SKU, and its algorithm finds the lowest prices and quickest lead times depending on the shipping zip code. The online storefront offers a large catalog of 80,000+ custom products, including packaging, janitorial, sanitation, and office supplies that ship locally with quick lead times. Through technology and data, Trinity’s e-commerce catalog is breaking down the packaging industry’s historically high barriers to entry.

For example, Stewart Morris of Maxton, North Carolina, said he bought shipping labels and bubble wrap on Trinity’s e-commerce site last week and said “Everything came in when I wanted it to…I was happy with the purchase. I usually buy on Uline, but Trinity was the first thing that popped up in my search, so I tried it to see if I could save money, and I did. I’ll be using Trinity for all my future supply purchases.”

Trinity Packaging Supply’s Founder and CEO, 40-year-old Anthony Magaraci, started Trinity from his home office in South Jersey in 2010.

“When I started Trinity, I found that the process of understanding the pricing per market for packaging supplies was inefficient. It would take me days to get quotes on wholesale products, waiting for reps to call me back with their best pricing for different regions. I knew this data already existed, but it would take so long to get this data from them. I figured if I could get that information and standardize what everyone called those same supplies across the country, I could create an e-commerce platform that finds any wholesale product at the best prices and quickest lead times,” said Magaraci. “Through SupplyStream, Trinity is providing companies with pricing and shipping data that empowers them to make decisions in an instant instead of days or months. The speed of business is the fastest that it’s ever been, and I don’t see it going backward. We’re here to help make it even faster.”

While Trinity currently uses SupplyStream for the packaging supply industry, it is built to transcend verticals and power other wholesale businesses in different industries by allowing suppliers to upload their catalogs and boost their sales through SupplyStream’s “one-click” new storefront feature. SupplyStream is an alternative to Amazon’s “Seller’s Central” and offers a storefront that can compete directly with Amazon.

Trinity quickly became the premiere wholesale source of pallets and packaging supplies for manufacturers, retailers, and logistics companies across North America. After sustained hyper-growth and doubling revenue every two years since launching, Trinity is now a $100 million business. It is a seven-time Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America winner, a four-time Inc. Best Places to Work in America winner, and one of America’s Most Innovative Companies of 2023 by Fortune Magazine.

Two Cities, One State Light Up for World Hemochromatosis Week on June 1

WHO: In the first week of June, both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh will light up red to help raise awareness for World Hemochromatosis Week,  June 1- 7. Hemochromatosis or “iron overload” is one of the most common genetic conditions in the United States. It affects one in 300 people but often goes undiagnosed partially due to its nonspecific symptoms. Hereditary Hemochromatosis is most common in persons of Northern European descent and is often found in families. It disrupts the body’s regulation of iron and can cause damage to the heart, liver, and pancreas. It can only be detected by a blood test, preventive screening, or liver imaging.

       ***Media are encouraged to attend***

WHAT: Boathouse Row and the PECO Crown Lights will light up red along with the Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh during the first week of June. Using all forms of media, displays, and other activities, this week is an opportunity to focus attention on hemochromatosis and the risk of inherited iron overload. On Friday, June 3, a celebration will take place at Fairmount Waterworks Gazebo at dusk, or 7:54 pm to show the City of Brotherly Love’s support in fighting this disease.

“Having two cities light up red in Pennsylvania is just the start of igniting all 50 states to play a part in bringing this condition to the forefront of health in the United States. My father’s hemochromatosis went undiagnosed for over a decade, and he died prematurely as a result. I was a part of his healthcare team, and I want to do everything I can as a healthcare professional and advocate to spare another family from experiencing this preventable tragedy. The reality is that too much, or too little, iron can kill, and we need to recognize iron overload as a contributor to chronic disease and premature deaths. Hemochromatosis International will leave no stone unturned to raise awareness of the condition around the world, said Christine O’Leary, U.S. Board Trustee.

WHEN: Friday, June 3 at 7:54 p.m. at dusk will be a short gathering as the lights turn red along Boathouse Row. Brief comments will be made by O’Leary, followed by Kathleen Fennelly who has hemochromatosis and can speak about the disease.

WHERE: Fairmount Water Works Gazebo located at 640 Waterworks Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19130.

About Hemochromatosis (source: Cleveland Clinic)

Hemochromatosis, or iron overload, is a condition in which your body stores too much iron. It’s often genetic. It can cause serious damage to your body, including to your heart, liver, and pancreas. Early, accurate diagnosis and treatment can avoid, slow, or reverse organ damage.  The classic form of hemochromatosis is most common in Caucasians of Northern European descent.

Ample COVID-19 safety procedures will be in place; American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to return as title partner of the marathon

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 11, 2021) — The City of Philadelphia announced today a preliminary date for the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, which is currently set for November 19 – 21, 2021. While City officials continue to monitor COVID-19 case trends closely, planning for the 27th annual running event is underway as event organizers are working closely with the City of Philadelphia on race weekend plans that align with Philadelphia’s COVID-19 safety policies.

Though plans remain subject to change, as of today the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend is scheduled to return to the streets of Brotherly Love, but with a 50 percent reduction in runners this year. Registration for the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend will open to runners at www.philadelphiamarathon.com on May 13 beginning at 2 p.m.

“While canceling the 2020 Philadelphia Marathon Weekend was necessary, it was still a difficult announcement to make,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “Today, we’re filled with hope as vaccine distribution continues to increase, making announcements like today’s possible. We are excited as we plan for the return of an iconic Philadelphia event, and we’re committed to creating the safest environment for our staff, athletes, volunteers, and partners. Safety is our top priority, and we continue to work closely with public health experts to plan and execute a safe, successful marathon weekend.”

Some of the pre-event and event day precautions will include:

  • 50 percent reduction in runners for each of the four events: AACR Philadelphia Marathon, Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon, Rothman 8K, and the Dunkin’ Munchkin Run.

  • Potential for runner participation to increase depending on current COVID-19 restrictions.

  • Restricted access to start and finish lines exclusively for runners; spectators will be limited to spectator zones located throughout the course of the race.

  • The Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon will begin at 7 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m. to allow for increased distancing between runners. All other race event times will remain the same.

  • Hydration and nutrition stations will follow public health safety guidelines.

  • Expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center will be modified to public health safety guidelines.

  • A pre-event questionnaire will be sent to all registered participants assessing their exposure risk in advance requiring them to disclose known symptoms.

  • Participants and planned spectators who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms in the week leading up to race day will not be allowed to attend.

  • There will be no registration or packet pick-up on event day.

  • Runners will be required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose in the start line corral and after crossing the finish line.

  • Runners will be assigned into eight corrals with 10 runners starting in waves every 10 seconds to allow for more distance between runners. Runners will be spaced three feet apart in starting corrals.

  • Traditional high fives and other significant celebratory points of contact will not be permitted at the finish line.

  • Runners will be required to remain socially distanced from others when they cross the finish line.

Runners who are registered to run in-person during races scheduled on November 20 or 21 will be given the option to participate virtually if they wish to, or if they are unable to run in-person due to illness. Those who register for a virtual race will also be given the option to transfer their participation to an in-person event through their RunSignUp account for an additional fee, space permitting. Runners who deferred their 2020 race registration will receive an email with instructions on how to register for the 2021 race using their deferred entry. Runners that were registered for 2020’s cancelled race who choose not to participate in the 2021 race may defer to 2022 or 2023 in the race category associated with their 2020 registration.

In the event of a cancellation, all 2021 participants will be given the option to defer their registration to race in future years, or to receive a partial refund dependent upon the cancellation date. Partial refunds will be determined based on race expenditures incurred by the City leading up to the cancellation date. At this time, a virtual race weekend is not planned if all race events are cancelled. In the event the race is cancelled, runners will be offered the option to donate their pro-rated refund to AACR.

The AACR Philadelphia Marathon takes runners on a 26.2-mile challenge that routes through the heart of Philadelphia and includes some of the most iconic landmarks. The beautiful and scenic course has been consistently listed as one of the top ten courses in the country. The weekend begins with the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon, the Rothman 8K run, and the Dunkin’ Munchkin’ Run on Saturday, November 20. The full AACR Philadelphia Marathon will be held on Sunday, November 21 to round out the weekend. Runners start at 22nd Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

“The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is honored to continue our partnership with the City of Philadelphia as the title partner of the AACR Philadelphia Marathon and official charity for race weekend,” said Mitch Stoller, AACR Foundation Chief Philanthropic Officer and Vice President of Development.  “As the running world begins to emerge from 2020, we are looking forward to welcoming back participants and building off the success of prior years. We encourage registrants to put more meaning in their miles by joining the AACR Runners for Research team to help propel the next wave of discoveries to benefit cancer patients and their families everywhere.”

Those interested can stay up to date with the latest information by visiting the Philadelphia Marathon’s website. If you are interested in learning more about the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, new COVID-19 safety policies and procedures, or would like to schedule interviews with runners, please email jsherlock@jennacommunications.com.

Mid Penn Bank Originates Over $1 Billion in PPP Loans Helping to Save Over 89,000 Jobs

MILLERSBURG, PA (May 6, 2021) — Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (NASDAQ: MPB), parent company of the wholly-owned subsidiaries Mid Penn Bank (“Bank”) and MPB Financial Services, Inc., announced today that the Bank has approved and disbursed more than $370 million in loans for small businesses since the 2021 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) portal was opened for community banks in January.

Mid Penn Bank has provided loans for more than 3,300 businesses in the 2021 Program.  The Small Business Administration backed loans received by these employers has allowed them to retain more than 34,000 workers on their payrolls.  The Bank’s SBA team relied on the experience gained in the first round of PPP in 2020 to help business owners and managers efficiently and successfully apply for and receive this critical funding.  Through both the 2020 and 2021 programs, Mid Penn Bank has funded more than 7,400 loans for over $1.0 billion.

“This unprecedented program has been a critical component of sustaining the economies in the markets we serve. I am incredibly proud of the work that we are doing to get applications submitted quickly and correctly so that we can get these needed funds to the businesses that are the backbone of local economies,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory Ritrievi.

The Mid Penn Paycheck Protection Program lending team is led by Natalie Falatek, First Vice President and Director of SBA/guaranteed lending. In 2019, Falatek completed the prestigious 7A Accreditation through the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) Advanced Lender Diploma Program. Job Burnout: Redefining Work-Life Balance

Michael Alleruzzo, Certified Leadership Coach, discusses the importance of a work- leisure blend to control burnout, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the work lifestyles we once knew.

Philadelphia (April 29, 2021)- The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the way we work. In order to ensure the safety of their employees, businesses across the nation transitioned from their traditional office work lifestyles to new remote work lifestyles. This new work lifestyle has caused employees to feel “burnout”, also defined by Mayo Clinic as “work-related stress — a state of physical or emotional exhaustion that also involves a sense of reduced accomplishment and loss of personal identity.” FlexJobs and Mental Health America (MHA) conducted a survey that found that 75% of people have experienced burnout at work, with 40% saying they’ve experienced burnout during the pandemic specifically.

Common symptoms of burnout include reduced performance and productivity, anxiety, detachment, low mood, difficulty concentrating, lack of creativity, and fatigue.

Michael Alleruzzo is a certified leadership coach, specializing in coaching, teaching, and consulting with leaders through his services. Alleruzzo believes in the importance of a work-life blend to deal with this burnout. Although he thinks that the term work-life balance should no longer exist, instead he suggests a new and improved term, work-leisure blend.

“I believe the time has come to replace the ‘term work-life balance’ with a new term – ‘work-leisure blend’.  Why?  Because for people who strongly identify with their careers, work is synonymous with life. The two are constantly interacting, and that is ok.  I find the idea of balance a bit problematic in that it suggests a 50/50 of each. Very few people have that.  So, the idea of work and life being separate and ‘balanced’ against each other isn’t attainable, or even desirable for many people. Instead, if we replace the term work-life balance with work-leisure blend, we allow for every person to define for themselves how much work is necessary, and how much leisure is necessary for the person to live a life of health, happiness, achievement, and fulfillment.”

As businesses begin to make plans for future openings, many are discussing if they will go back completely in person, offer hybrid work lifestyles, or allow employees to stay completely remote. As Alleruzzo mentioned above, everyone defines their life needs differently. Some prefer more time working, while others prefer more time doing lifestyle activities. That is why a new formula for employee effectiveness and engagement is critical for businesses and should be central to their future discussions.

A survey of 8,500 knowledge and skilled workers from around the world was conducted by Future Forum, a business that “works with industry and academic institutions to publish research, case studies, and position papers publicly to drive discussion about the future of work and enable teams to build off best practices.” Fortune Magazine released details of this survey stating that 63% of knowledge workers prefer a hybrid model. Another 20% prefer fully remote, and 17% want to always work from the office.

In his popular TED Talk “Why We Do What We Do”, Tony Robbins once referred to ‘the science of achievement, and the art of fulfillment’.  The past year and beyond has allowed (for some) and/or forced (for others), the opportunity to examine one’s life in these two contexts – what we have achieved and what we want to achieve, in relation to how fulfilled we feel inside.

Each of us assesses differently our current state of both achievement and fulfillment.  And, because we are all different, we all have varying goals for each.  These goals exist within a variety of domains.  These domains include career, home/family, other responsibilities (community, church, school), as well as self-care necessities.

Many people have reported increased reflection during the pandemic regarding what they want for their lives from both achievement and fulfillment lenses.  And various surveys are revealing that many people across the age spectrum are looking for increasing autonomy over how they contribute to achievement while attaining (or maintaining) fulfillment.

Rather than trying to go “back to normal”, companies should instead “focus forward” regarding their entire business model.  At the core of that model are their employees.  And the smartest companies, the ones that will gain, maintain, or increase their competitive advantage are the ones that put their people first, and welcome them into a conversation as to how to connect employee and organization achievement, with employee fulfillment.

Small Business Owners Getting a Second Chance for the PPP

Millersburg, PA (April 6, 2021)- The Paycheck Protection Program has been extended until May 31 for small business owners to apply, and allows banks and the Small Business Administration another 30 days past that to approve the loans. Small business owners begged for an extension of the deadline, and President Biden signed the PPP Extension Act of 2021 into law on Tuesday to make it official.

Mid Penn Bank has approved and disbursed more than $355 million in PPP loans to more than 2,800 businesses in 2021. Approximately $130 billion remains available in the SBA’s program, so the CEO of Mid Penn Bank couldn’t be happier to continue to help small businesses bounce back from the economic fallout.

“We will continue to accept PPP loan applications and help business owners with the process until the program expires,” says Mid Penn Bank President and CEO, Rory Ritrievi. “We will keep processing loans and helping small businesses remain afloat no matter what it takes. If you have been debating whether to take a PPP loan for your business, this gives you additional time to collect documents, consider your options, and apply with us today.”

If you would like to interview the CEO of Mid Penn Bank, Rory Ritrievi, to provide small businesses helpful tips on how to start the application process, or to understand if they qualify for PPP loans please contact Jennifer Sherlock at jsherlock@jennacommunications.com

Every Organization Needs to Rethink Its Office Blueprint

Michael Alleruzzo, Certified Leadership Coach, Discusses the Lasting Effects of Covid-19 on the Workforce

Philadelphia (March 23, 2021)- COVID-19 has impacted the “normal” office lifestyle. During these unprecedented times, companies across the world developed remote changes or hybrid lifestyles for their company. Post-covid, people will still be working from home. So how can a great leader manage expectations? What if employees want to return to the workplace? Or what if employees prefer to stay home?

Michael Alleruzzo is a certified leadership coach, specializing in coaching, teaching, and consulting with leaders through his services. Alleruzzo believes that discussions of post-covid work lifestyles need to be discussed between employees and leaders. He stated “Employers should ask employees what they want. If leaders give more freedoms, it will help ramp up employee engagement.” So that begs the question, what do employees want post covid?

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), a financial and professional services company, conducted research on more than 2,000 office workers across 10 countries. They found that 80% of high performers missed their office during the lockdown, but that most employees prefer the hybrid approach. Specifically, Flore Pradère, Research Director at JLL Corporate Solutions Research, stated that “The COVID-19 crisis has incited a massive paradigm shift in the world of work,” and “To adapt to this new normal, the future of work must be reimagined to focus on the needs and preferences of a liquid workforce.

Alleruzo provided his insight, “Managers today need to strike a blend with how much they need to / want to manage their employees’ behaviors (for example, hours/days worked per week) versus their employees’ outcomes (for example, sales metrics).  If I have an employee who is very effective and is very engaged in their job, and in our organization and its mission, should I really care if they clock in exactly at 9 am every day?  Probably not so much.”

If you would like to discuss this shift in work lifestyle with educational leader Michael Alleruzzo on his insight, lessons, and tips for how employers and employees can adapt to the new normal post-covid, please contact Jennifer Sherlock at jsherlock@jennacommunications.com.

Five Changes to the PPP Loan Starting Today That Help Underserved Borrowers

Millersburg, PA (February 24, 2021) – President Joe Biden announced Monday a series of changes to the Paycheck Protection Program to help underserved borrowers. The changes are outlined below:

  • Starting today, only businesses with fewer than 20 employees can apply for loans for a two-week period.
  • The way loans are calculated will be revised so businesses without employees get more relief. The previous calculation — based on payroll — made the program ineffective for sole proprietors and independent contractors, including many businesses of color. The Biden administration also will set aside $1 billion in PPP loan funds for businesses without employees in low- and moderate-income areas.
  • The elimination of an exclusion that prevents business owners with non-fraud felony convictions from accessing the program.
  • The elimination of an exclusion that prevents business owners who are delinquent on federal students loans from accessing the program.
  • Non-citizen small-business owners who are lawful U.S. residents will be able to apply for loans using individual taxpayer identification numbers.

The Paycheck Protection Program, initially authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, was rolled out last April to help businesses survive the financial blows of the coronavirus pandemic. The program is intended to incentivize small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll instead of laying them off.

Mid Penn Bank President and CEO, Rory Ritrievi, said, “Since the beginning of PPP, we have had a focus on assisting the smallest businesses. We have never set requirements for minimum loan amounts and have approved PPP loan applications as low as $600.  We enthusiastically support any and all initiatives that help small businesses get the relief they need, as soon as possible.”

PPP, the Small Business Administration’s principal pandemic-relief program, is scheduled to run through March 31.

If you would like to interview Rory for more helpful tips, or to understand the second round of changes to the PPP further, please contact Jennifer Sherlock at jsherlock@jennacommunications.com.

Mining Bitcoin in the New Technology Frontier

Bitcoin surges above $48,000 after Elon Musk buys $1.5 Billion Worth Increasing VBit Mining Business in Montana

Philadelphia, PA (February 10, 2021) – VBit Technologies, one of the only U.S.- based companies developing and hosting Bitcoin mining operations, based out of Philadelphia is expanding its mining business into Montana.  Known as the “Known Technology Frontier”, Montana provides access to cheap electricity plus cooler conditions making it an ideal place to turn dormant manufacturing plants into server farms to mine Bitcoin. Yesterday, CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced that it had bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin, and would start accepting bitcoin as a payment method for its products. Some are crediting Musk with raising the price of cryptocurrencies. As of today, Bitcoin has broken another all-time high at $48,200 per Coinable price index, so as the market is growing, Bitcoin mining is too.

VBit already has existing mining locations in Calgary and Colorado and is expanding into Montana while actively looking for new locations in Western Pennsylvania as well.  Montana with its inexpensive and vast amounts of hydroelectric power and large vacant facilities that have their own power substations and is a prime location for expansion to mine Bitcoin. VBit will deploy its new mining hardware in a data center that is 100% powered by hydroelectricity.

According to bitcoinenergyconsumption.com the total power consumption of Bitcoin mining in 2020 is estimated at 77.8 TWh per year which is the equivalent of the entire country of Chile.  A single mining transaction uses 686.5 kWh which equates to 23.3 days of power for an average US household.  (Bitcoin Energy Consumption Index – Digiconomist).  This amount of power generation is estimated to add over 36.9 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere which is the same as New Zealand in a year.

Don Vo, CEO, and founder of VBit Technologies said, “Crypto as an industry has now come of age, and is now firmly in the mainstream -it is here to stay, and so is VBit Technologies. From an environmental standpoint, it’s therefore important for bitcoin mining to move to a more eco-friendly energy source that not only reduces the cost of electricity consumption but also generates it from renewable sources making it environmentally friendly. In addition, VBit is exploring new liquid immersion cooling technology that will allow for a more reliable mining environment with less failure. If there’s an hour of downtime from a failure, it means we’re losing money, so we need to keep the equipment optimized for profitability and customer satisfaction.”

VBit Technologies’ has a brand called VBit Mining that provides bitcoin mining services to thousands of people worldwide, and is on its way to becoming one of the largest bitcoin mining operations in the world.

About VBit Technologies:

VBit Technologies was founded in 2018 in Philadelphia when a few blockchain believers and aficionados came together and began exploring the concept of utilizing blockchain technology to improve processes in real-world businesses.

Since launching, VBit has helped over 7000 clients and continues to experience exponential growth.  Today, VBit is committed to its mission: Building an efficient and large scale mining operation anyone, and everyone can use! VBit Technologies is the parent company to VBit Mining.

About VBit Mining:

VBit has mining sites in Colorado, Calgary, and Montana. The team has built the most efficient mining systems using green energy, and has kept clients competitive with their mining rewards.

LifeBrand Offers Temporary Jobs To Help Those Who Have Been Unemployed Get Through The Holidays

West Chester, PA (December 18, 2020)–  Founder and CEO of LifeBrand, T.J. Colaiezzi, has announced that he wants to provide assistance in the community by offering temporary employment to as many people as possible during this holiday season. Due to the recent PA shutdown, a surge in unemployment has occurred and Colaiezzi decided he wants to help people earn extra income during these uncertain times.

Colaiezzi stated that he would like anyone to reach out for possible employment at LifeBrand. He has promised to ensure all temporary employees hired will receive their paycheck before Christmas. He is offering both commission-based sales and part-time admin work in hopes that anyone with or without experience is given the opportunity to be hired. Sales reps will be guaranteed a minimum of minimum wage even if they don’t sell anything.

In addition to offering temporary work, Colaiezzi also announced that applicants can fill out their information for future full-time positions at LifeBrand. The company expects to hire three to five full-time positions every month starting in January. He asks those that are interested in temporary positions or full-time positions to email him at thomas@lifebrand.life.

“Beginning the second PA shutdown right before the holidays has impacted people’s lives, and if this temporary work allows them to comfortably get through this season, it’s the least I can do,” said Colaiezzi.
