Strides for Stroke 5K: With the help of Jenna Communications, The Delaware Valley Stroke Council is planning their annual Strides for Stroke 5K on June 10th. The 18th Annual Dr. Howard Mazer Memorial Strides for Stroke event raises money for stroke survivors and caregivers as well as region-wide stroke prevention educational events and screenings. This scenic run/walk takes place along the Martin Luther King Highway in Philadelphia against the beautiful backdrop of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Participants will enjoy food and entertainment with old friends and new while fighting against the threat of stroke. Sign up for $25 before June 9th and $30 on race day, or join our volunteer committee!

Lehigh Valley Mall Kidgets Events: Lehigh Valley Mall is hosting two fun events for Kidgets this June! Who says exercise and healthy habits can’t be fun? On June 16th from 1:00- 3:00 pm, kids will learn how to have an awesome summer full of fun and free of accidents at the Safe and Fit Summer event. The event features martial arts tutorials, how to have fun on a bounce unit, the Whitehall Police Department’s child ID program, bicycle safety information, crafts, activities, and more! Then, join Bravo! Cucina Italiana and Ten Thousand Villages in the Mall Events Court from 1:00-3:00 pm on June 23rd to see the fun side of food with Super Duper Mini Chefs! This is a free culinary event that includes cooking demonstrations, giveaways, and interactive activities, including kitchen safety, food preparation and table manners. The event is sponsored by Nickelodeon’s iCarly Groovy Foodie Nintendo DS game, so everyone is invited to test the new game, released June 12th at Game Stop! There will also be a food drive, so bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

Quaker Bridge Mall: Quaker Bridge Mall is looking forward to new and exciting changes as it awaits the opening of 25 new stores by November 2012. Among the new retailers are Michael Kors, Pandora, Sephora, Sur La Table, and Teavana. The Cheesecake Factory restaurant is currently under construction and scheduled to open at this fall. Quaker Bridge welcomes the new changes as it looks forward to becoming a shopping hot-spot for Central New Jersey. Lehigh Valley Non-Profit Awareness Expo 2012: The Lehigh Valley Mall is offering an exciting opportunity for Lehigh Valley non-profit organizations to connect with businesses, volunteers, potential sponsors, and donors in the area. The Expo will be Thursday, September 20th from Noon until 8pm. The event will be a great place for non-profits to connect with the public and celebrate their contributions to the community. Aside from networking there will be entertainment, music, raffles, and a program to kick off the Expo featuring Whitehall Mayor Edward Hozza Jr. The Lehigh Valley Mall is still looking for people interested in being a sponsor or vendor for the event. Losing Control: Philadelphia native Valerie Weiss brought her romantic comedy “Losing Control” to the Landmark Ritz at the Bourse for a week-long theatrical release. Weiss based the movie on her own experience as a grad student at Harvard Medical School, where she learned not only about science, but also about love. Valerie recently won the Top Female Filmmaker of 2011 Award from the Chicago Comedy Film Festival. On May 29th Fox’s Mike Jerrick interviewed Valerie on Good Day Philadelphia. Propper Hockey: Jen and the Propper Hockey team wrapped up the Flyers’ season with their final show on May 16th. Everyone gathered at Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford, NJ for one last time to talk hockey and say farewell to a great first season of Propper Hockey. Watch the show on livestream.

Mom’s Nite Out at Simon Malls: Simon celebrated National Mom’s Night Out at Lehigh Valley Mall, Quaker Bridge Mall, Oxford Valley Mall, and Montgomery Mall on Thursday, May 10. Simon malls opened their doors for thousands of moms for a Nite of shopping, pampering, socializing, fun, and helpful interactive demonstrations and displays. These events helped raise awareness for Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help underprivileged women find jobs and remain employed. County Fair at Oxford Valley Mall: The seventh annual Bucks County Fair was held at Oxford Valley Mall from April 26 to May 6. There were amusement rides, games, food, attractions, music, and much more! Proceeds benefitted the Middletown Community Foundation, a non-profit organization created to improve the quality of life for individuals who live and work in Middletown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Stroke Alert Day: The Delaware Valley Stroke Council marked their 5th annual Stroke Alert Day on May 1. With the help of healthcare providers and volunteers, the Delaware Valley Stroke Council educated the community about the potential warning signs of strokes and offered free blood pressure screenings. Medical professionals and volunteers were stationed in various Delaware Valley hospitals, drug stores, supermarkets and malls to provide visitors with free blood pressure screenings.

Stress Awareness Month: April was Stress Awareness Month! Bryan Toder, certified clinical hypnotist and owner of the Plymouth Hypnosis Center, participated in National Stress Awareness Month by helping clients manage stress through hypnosis techniques.

Quaker Bridge Mall: Exciting changes are coming to the Quaker Bridge Mall. The mall is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The plan includes a decorative renovation along with a completely revamped tenant mix that will significantly upgrade merchandise selection in the categories of apparel, accessories, and home furnishings.
