Maria Salvemini is a rising senior at Villanova University. She is majoring in English and Political Science and minoring in Environmental Studies. At Villanova Maria is the President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, one of the university’s largest honor societies, and works as a writing tutor at Villanova’s Writing Center. Maria interned at Jenna Communications last summer and is excited to return! In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Sara Ware is a rising sophomore at Penn State University, University Park. She is currently in the College of Communications pursuing a major in Public Relations with minors in English and business. She has been an active member in Penn State’s PRSSA chapter on campus since her first semester. She is excited to be chosen as the 2013-2014 co-chair of the Fundraising Committee. Sara looks forward to spending her upcoming years as a student at Penn State and continuing to learn about PR. She would love to end up doing PR in the entertainment industry someday. Sara hopes to live in a city like Los Angeles and have a successful PR career..
Shakira West is a recent graduate from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). While there she majored in Communications Media and minored in Journalism with a main focus of Public Relations. She was also a part of PRSSA where she helped run social media, create promo flyers and other promotional tools for various clients. In her spare time, Shakira enjoys hanging with friends, eating at different restaurants, reading and watching movies.
Upcoming Events On Thursday, June 6, BC Processing will hold its annual Technology Expo at the Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The BC Technology Team will demonstrate some of its latest, most innovative products including the LucidFrog RMS System, Biddit Silent Auction Software, Virtual Merchant/Virtual Merchant Mobile and its full website design capabilities. Guests will be treated to hot and cold hors d’oeurves and one complimentary drink ticket. Visit the event page for more details and how to register. For the second year in a row, Jenna Communications is planning the Delaware Valley Stroke Council’s Strides for Stroke 5K Run/Walk on Sunday June 9, and there are plenty of opportunities for you to help! Volunteers are needed to help with event logistics, fundraising, donation requests, registration and refreshments. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. Click HERE to register for the event and visit the Delaware Valley Stroke Council’s website to learn more about the organization. Remember, stroke is the number one cause of adult disabilities. By participating in Strides for Stroke, you are helping to guarantee the continued success of programs that educate community members about stroke and work with hospitals to provide cutting-edge care for stroke victims. All hands on deck to plan Strides for Stroke On Saturday, June 22 Judge VIP (Veterans in Professional) Careers and the Philadelphia Soul are hosting the inaugural Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game and “Speed Career Networking Event”. The mission of the event is to help veterans get jobs. All branches of the military are invited! You can purchase tickets for the game on the Wells Fargo Center website. Exhibitors are also needed for the networking event. If your company is interested you can purchase tickets for the Speed Career Networking Event here. Admission to the networking event is free for all veterans! Be sure to like the event page on Facebook. Event Recaps Goldtex provided a preview of its apartments that did not disappoint with Party on Pearl on May 16. The V.I.P Preview Opening offered guests a fun night filled with Veuve Clicquot, pearls, catering from Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, and much more. Event photos even made their way onto the front page of Philly.com and Philadelphia Magazine’s website. Party on Pearl brought a lot of flair to the Callowhill Neighborhood Jessica Billings, Miss Pennsylvania USA was sent off to Las Vegas in style by friends, family, and sponsors at her going away party on Friday, May 9 at Valanni.
