ITEMS FROM TONY GWYNN COLLECTION TO BE SOLD AT THE 12TH ANNUAL

LIVE AUCTION & APPRAISAL FAIR AT ALL-STAR FANFEST® DURING 2016 MLB® ALL-STAR WEEK™

Bidding for the Live Auction at All-Star FanFest® begins Tuesday, July 12at 10:30AM

LOCATION:  San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA

 (Exton, PA, June 21, 2016)Hunt Auctions, the official auction company of All-Star FanFest®, will present the 12th Annual Live Auction at All-Star FanFest® during the Major League Baseball® All-Star Game® events in San Diego, from July 8th to12th.  A select grouping of items from Tony Gwynn’s Personal Collection will headline the live auction on July 12th.  In addition to this collection, a 1966 Sandy Koufax Los Angeles Dodgers® professional model home jersey, 1953 Jackie Robinson professional model baseball bat,  “Smoky” Joe Wood’s 1912 Boston Red Sox® World Championship medallion,   and a variety of other valuable MLB® memorabilia will all be offered to the collecting public.  Hunt Auctions will also offer fans visiting All-Star FanFest® the opportunity to have their sports memorabilia appraised for free at the Hunt Auctions Appraisal Fair.

Tony Gwynn Collection:

-Tony Gwynn 1984 and 1998 San Diego Padres® NL™ Championship rings (Est: $50,000-$100,000 each)

-Tony Gwynn 1988 and 1989 NL Batting Championship Silver Bats (Est: $40,000-$60,000 each)

-Tony Gwynn 1986 Gold Glove Award (Est. $40,000-$60,000)

-Tony Gwynn 1986 and 1995 Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Awards (Est: $15,000-$25,000 each)

-Tony Gwynn 2001 Commissioner’s Historic Achievement Award (Est. $10,000-$15,000)

The Tony Gwynn Collection consists of a fine group of personal items originating from the personal collection of the Hall of Fame outfielder; such as his 1984 and 1998 San Diego Padres NL Championship rings along with his 1988 and 1989 NL Batting Championship Silver Bat awards.

A portion of the auction proceeds from the Gwynn collection items will go to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The focus of T.A.G.Foundation has been to help assist those programs that enhance the opportunity for children to become healthy, educated, emotionally stable, productive citizens by providing the best quality education and housing opportunities available.

This year’s auction will also feature a superb 1966 Sandy Koufax Los Angeles Dodgers professional model home jersey. The cream color flannel jersey is being offered for the first time publicly and has resided in the personal collection of a former MLB executive since 1973.  The shirt dates to Koufax’s legendary 1966 season in which he earned a record of 27-6, led the Dodgers to the NL pennant, won his 3rd NL Cy Young Award, and retired at the end of the season. This jersey has been graded A9 by MEARS Authentication and is estimated to sell for between $150,000-$300,000.

HUNT AUCTIONS APPRAISAL FAIR AND DAILY SILENT AUCTIONS

 Hunt Auctions and its team of nationally recognized experts will conduct its annual complimentary appraisal fair Friday, July 8th through Tuesday, July 12th for visitors of All-Star FanFest®. Select items from the appraisal fair may be consigned to the live auction.  Attendees can call ahead to schedule a private consultation at 610.524.0822 or email at info@huntauctions.com.   Hunt Auctions will also hold daily silent auctions held exclusively for visitors of All-Star FanFest® on Friday, July 8th – Monday, July 11th featuring vintage and modern era items for less than $1,000.

All-Star FanFest® at the San Diego Convention Center, which opens on Friday, July 8th and runs through Tuesday, July 12th, is the world’s largest interactive baseball theme park with over 500,000 square feet of baseball-related attractions for fans of all ages. Visitors can practice their baseball skills during clinics hosted by MLB® legends and current players; swing like their favorite Major Leaguers™ in the batting cages; view a collection of MLB® trophies and take a photo with the Commissioner’s Trophy, presented to the World Series Champions™; explore exhibits from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum; take photos with and get autographs from former Padres® players, MLB® Legends and Hall of Famers; and more.

All All-Star FanFest® attractions are included with the price of admission, and the only additional costs are for concessions and memorabilia. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for children ages 12 and under (children two and under are admitted free), senior citizens and military personnel. All-Star FanFest® tickets are sold on a timed-entry basis, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early to obtain preferred entry times.
