 BABE RUTH PROFESSIONAL MODEL BAT SOLD FOR $117,500 AT 14TH ANNUAL LIVE AUCTION AT GEICO ALL-STAR FANFEST® 

LOCATION:  Walter Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C.

 (WASHINGTON D.C, July 17, 2018) The 14thAnnual Live Hunt Auction took place atGEICO All-Star FanFest®during the MLB®All-Star Week®in Washington DC. with excellent results.  The auction venue has developed into the premier venue for historic baseball memorabilia with the 2018 offering showcasing an incredible assemblage of baseball artifacts.  As always, Babe Ruth items drew heavy bidding from live and online buyers ending at a final sale price of $117,500.  An original photograph of Ruth by Paul Thompson also hammered down at a record price for the image type of $49,350 (Estimate $15,000-$25,000 estimate). The two-day auction was highlighted by the personal collection of legendary New York Giants slugger and Hall of Fame member Mel Ott, as well as the Photo File Archive of historic baseball photography.
