JerseyMan/PhillyMan Magazine Celebrates its Honorees for the Sixth Year
Ballroom at the Ben Hosts the 6th Annual Unmasking the Legacy Gala
PHILADELPHIA – (November 2, 2021) In less than a month, the JerseyMan/PhillyMan Magazine will be back celebrating its Man & Woman of the Year Honorees for its sixth year, after last year’s cancelation due to the pandemic. This annual gala celebration will be taking place on Thursday, November 4, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Ballroom at the Ben. Each year the magazine carefully nominates 6 men and women to honor for being the most influential in their professional and philanthropic achievements. For each ticket that is purchased for this event, a portion of the proceeds will benefit two charities that have been highlighted by the honorees. Each of the honorees has chosen a charity that they are passionate about, but the guests will be the ones to decide who wins the proceeds by choosing which honoree and charity they wish to support. The top two honorees will then be awarded the proceeds to benefit their selected charity.
Albert Fox has chosen a charity very close to his heart, the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. Although his career as a financial advisor is very demanding, Fox still finds the time to serve on the board and executive committee of the Philadelphia Freedom YMCA. In 2012, he was honored by Registered Rep. Magazine for his charitable work and listed in the top ten “Advisors with Heart” nationwide. The YMCA is a non-profit with a mission to connect people to healthier lifestyles through a variety of programs. They serve over 180,000 members in the Greater Philadelphia region regardless of background, income, and age.
Another mentionable nominee is the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Buchanan, Ingersol & Rooney. On a day-to-day basis, Lloyd Freeman works to advance diversity throughout the firm and pays close attention to attorney hiring, retention, and advancement. He has chosen to support the Big Brother Big Sister charity and is the board chairman for the Independence Region. The organization strives to cultivate mentoring relationships that empower children to reach their highest potential. The organization’s volunteers make immeasurable impacts on the lives of so many children and help to support them in a safe and encouraging environment.
One last honoree to highlight is Marilyn Russell, the host of Remarkable Women, a program that showcases women doing amazing things in their communities on 98.1 WOGL. She has chosen to support the Ertz Family Foundation, whose mission is to help people around the world through faith, sports, and educational opportunities.
Other notable honorees include Brian Propp, who will be supporting the WCRE Foundation, and last but not least, Julie Strohlein, supporting the Impact Fund of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey.
In addition to celebrating the Man & Woman of the Year Honorees, the gala will also be hosting a silent auction in place of the usual Best Mask competition. Although things are a bit different due to the mask mandates in Philadelphia, the gala is still trying to make the most of this year’s event. During the evening, guests can enjoy butlered hors d’oeuvres, top-shelf spirits, live entertainment performed by Double Down Entertainment and a special guest appearance from 97.5 The Fanatic’s, Mike Missanelli as the gala’s emcee.
Sponsors include Tito’s Handmade Vodka which is the charity sponsor and vodka of the night, Primepoint, Alloy Silverstein, Valley Forge Tourism & Conventions, TC Irons, DVIF&G, and Jefferson Health.
