–Critically Ill Philadelphia Children and Families Come Together for a Worry Free Morning–
WHO: Casey Cares Foundation, a non-profit charity that provides uplifting and ongoing programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-Atlantic area, will provide a worry free and historical morning for critically ill children from the Philadelphia division of the Casey Cares Foundation.
WHAT: The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization has arranged a morning of tours, activities, snacks, and bonding for local critically ill children and their families at one of the nation’s premier fire museums. This Caring Connections group party was made possible by The Fireman’s Hall Museum, Vallaro’s Bakery, What’s for Dessert, and Dunkin Donuts.
WHEN: Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Fireman’s Hall Museum
147 N 2nd St
Philadelphia, PA 19106
WHY: Casey Cares Foundation offers special events, such as Caring Connection group parties, to serve Casey Cares children and families with the opportunity to surround themselves with companionship and support of others who are dealing with the same struggles. Caring Connection group parties give the children the chance to create friendships and everlasting memories while having fun, and forgetting about their illnesses for a short period of time. Constance, a local grandmother who adopted her three-grandchildren, has been apart of Casey Cares for three years and is truly blessed by the help she receives from the foundation. The Caring Connections parties, and Casey Cares’ newest program, “Hammy’s Heart”, have especially impacted her family. Constance said, “Casey Cares does so much more than I could’ve ever imagined. They make sure we have exciting things to do, so the focus can go away from illness, and more towards living in the moment.”
