Parcels of land going once, going twice…
HAVERHILL, MA, November 16, 2010 —Haverhill is auctioning off nine pieces of land worth almost $115,000. The city of Haverhill, Massachusetts is using municibid.com, a site that is free for government and open to the public for bidding. Each piece of land has a different amount of acreage, and is assessed at different values depending on its location in the city.
“Land is the one thing they don’t make more of,” said Greg Berry, President and CEO of municibid.com. “The parcels may be of interest to abutting property owners who might be looking for additional land or to block potential development of the land. The land could be used for many possible applications, pending necessary approvals and variances from the city,” he added.
Located on the Merrimack River, Haverhill is known as one of the more historical cities in Massachusetts. The picturesque city offers a wide variety of recreational activities that include skiing, boating, bald eagle watching, and jogging along the river that winds through the city. The newly rehabilitated central business district hosts the flourishing computer and research industries.
Bidding started on November 15 at midnight and will continue until December 2 at 10 a.m.
The parcels of land up for auction are situated in the heart of this thriving city. For additional information please visit municibid.com or contact Mary Roy, Haverhill City Treasurer, at (978) 374-2322.
