HOLIDAY 2012 OFF TO AN EARLY START AT MONTGOMERY MALL

– Midnight Opening on ‘Black Friday’ Leads to World of Fun, Entertainment, and Bargains during the Holiday Season –

NORTH WALES, Pa., Nov. 20, 2012 — Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), the world’s leading retail real estate company, announces that Montgomery Mall will open at midnight on ‘Black Friday’, November 23.

“After reviewing feedback from our shoppers, we decided it would work best to open the mall at midnight,” said Ashley Pompei, director of mall marketing at Montgomery Mall, “We are eager to accommodate all those looking to get an early start on holiday purchases, and expect the mall to be busy upon opening.”

Those planning on starting Black Friday shopping early are encouraged to visit mall Guest Services to receive a Black Friday survival bag, which will be given to the first 100 shoppers who arrive at midnight.

For those customers who need a break from the Black Friday hustle and bustle, Montgomery Mall will have a Holiday Rejuvenation Station in place at the Sears Court. Charging stations will be available for mobile phones so shoppers can continue to search for the best Black Friday deals while shopping.

Along with Black Friday activities, Montgomery Mall is hosting several additional holiday promotions. Three digital promotions include a text-to-win $10,000 shopping spree, cutest kid and cutest pet photo contests and an instant win scratch game for mobile devices. Along with digital promotions, the mall is offering a number of conventional deals including a free $10 Simon American Express Gift card with the purchase of $200 or more of qualifying retailer gift cards at BlackHawk.

Looking beyond Black Friday, Montgomery Mall has a number of additional upcoming holiday events planned. Tickets are still available for Breakfast with Santa, which is being held on December 1. The event has three separate seatings at 8:30 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. respectively, and tickets are free for Simon Kidgits Club members. On Sunday, December 9 the mall will host Pet Photo Night with Santa from 7 to 9 p.m. Finally, a number of holiday performances are scheduled in the jcpenney Court to entertain shoppers during the holiday season.
