Domestic Abuse Survivor and Founder Necol Millsip Turns her Pain into Purpose to Empower Others

PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 23, 2026— The Soldier of Love Foundation, Inc. will host its 10th Anniversary Domestic Violence Awareness and Empowerment Gala on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at The IATSE Ballroom, 2401 S. Swanson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148.

Recent events that have made headlines locally only renew the public’s attention to true dangers of domestic violence. However, Soldier of Love Foundation has been in the fight against domestic violence every day for the past 10 years. The organization is on the front lines helping victims find resources to fight back against and fight out of these dangerous situations. This evening is to honor and recognize those efforts, the purpose of the organization and its supporters as a whole.

The evening will also mark a milestone moment as Founder and domestic abuse survivor Necol Millsip is recognized and inducted into the Fritz & Bianculli Hall of Courage for her unwavering leadership, compassion, and lifelong commitment to supporting survivors.

Fritz & Bianculli has partnered with Necol and the Soldier of Love Foundation to not only add methods of civil litigation as a resource to victims, but also to work together to advance legislation. Legislation that will serve to help strengthen existing laws and create others to educate about domestic violence, combat domestic violence and ultimately attempt to end domestic violence.

Hosted by Mimi Brown, the gala will feature Founder Necol Millsip, Keynote Speaker Mark Holland, and Attorney Brian Fritz, Esquire. Guests will enjoy an inspiring night filled with music, dancing, dinner, entertainment, and heartfelt tributes.

“I felt powerless. I felt hopeless,” Millsip said. “I felt like I didn’t have anything, and I kept saying to myself, I don’t have any money, he took everything from me. How am I going to get out of this? Then I decided in my mind that I was going to sacrifice and leave with nothing. The shelter wanted me to make sure I had enough money for housing for me and my six children. That’s how I was able to get away from my abuser.”

Brian Fritz, Managing Partner at Fritz and Bianculli said, “Necol jumped out of a window to save her own life and the lives of her six children. That act of bravery reflects exactly what we strive to do at Fritz & Bianculli, to help people in their most desperate moments. We’re on the same path of providing support, hope, and a future for those who feel there are no better days ahead. That’s why we founded this firm — to use our God-given talents to help others like Necol, who had the courage to break free and build a better life for her family.”
