RON JAWORSKI JOINS MISSION TO FIND JOBS FOR VETERANS

Philadelphia Soul honors veterans with Speed Career Networking Event and Military Appreciation Night

PHILADELPHIA, June 12, 2013 – NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Ron “Jaws” Jaworski has joined the movement to tackle the high rate of unemployment among veterans and help put Armed Forces members to work in rewarding civilian careers.

At a recent press conference at the Philadelphia Union League, the majority owner of the Philadelphia Soul announced that the Soul has joined forces with The Judge Group, a global professional services firm, to host a veterans Speed Career Networking Event onJune 22 as part of their Military Appreciation Night activities. The event will be held from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m at the Cadillac Grille in the Wells Fargo Center. A lineup of nearly 50 employers is expected to attend including Virtua Health Systems, UPS, Walgreens, TD Bank, Jacobs Engineering, Subaru of America and Comcast.

Martin E. Judge, Jr., minority owner of the Philadelphia Soul and CEO of The Judge Group, has put a plan in place to help these American Heroes who he said deserve better from the American business community.

With 35 offices across the country, The Judge Group’s newest division, Judge VIP (Veterans In Professional) Careers will offer veterans a unique career lifeline, or ‘boots to boardroom’ approach, to help these men and women transition into good jobs and rewarding careers.

“The U.S.  Military is the greatest training program in the world, and these men and women have the skills and attributes our nation needs and wants,” said Command Chief Master Sergeant Mike Ferraro, President of Judge VIP Careers..

Military Appreciation Night will also include a patriotic fan fest from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. with Armed Forces interactive display stations and live entertainment featuring Biz Markie.

Afterwards, the event will shift to celebrating our veterans through America’s pastime – football, arena style.

Following the 6:05 p.m. Philadelphia Soul vs. Iowa Barnstormers matchup, the Soul organization and Judge VIP Careers will host a special exhibition arena football game with team rosters consisting of Army and Navy veterans.

“The deployment of veterans onto the arena field following the regularly scheduled Soul game is the patriotic culmination of the Philadelphia Soul’s Military Appreciation Day,” Jaworski said.

The Navy Veterans team includes Naval Academy standouts such as former college football quarterback Lt. Ricky Dobbs; former Academy kicker Capt. Frank Schenk; former wide receiver Lt. j.g. Tyree Barnes; former defensive end Ensign Jabaree Tuani, and three of the six Person brothers,  two of whom played  for Navy, including record holder Andy Person.
