Philadelphia University Students Move In To New, Old Dorm

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia University welcomed the first students on Monday to an old building with a lot of history, much of which has been transformed into a residence hall.

PhillyU Dormitory

The building that once      housed Woman’s Medical  College still has ambulances  bringing people to health  care in one part, but  145,000 square feet is now  called home by about 300  Philly U. students, including  junior Kelli Kowalewski of  Shamong, New Jersey. She’s  in a four person suite, and sweet it is…

“We have two bathrooms. There’s a bathroom in here for my other two roommates and then we have our own bathroom, as well. I really like that everything is new.  It’s not dirty. It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be a problem trying to operate it or anything.”

Bill Bostic’s Axis Construction Management led the rehab and says this is a keeper…

“Absolutely, Yeah, yeah, it’s a great project to have on the resume. We love it. We love doing things like this.”

Buses and vans connect students to campus less than a mile away.
