Audible for Autism Takes on the West Chester Golden Rams for the Halftime Touchdown Run

West Chester’s Local Community Joins Together to Fight the Stigma of Autism

WHO: Audible for Autism, West Chester University Golden Rams, and West Chester’s First Responders join together with the local community for Audible for Autism’s Halftime Touchdown Run.

WHAT: Audible for Autism is an organization that raises awareness and provides community support to children and families on the Autism Spectrum through innovative football-based programs. During the Audible for Autism Halftime Touchdown Run, two pre-selected children on the Spectrum will join the team huddles as running backs. The Halftime Touchdown Run teams will be comprised of members of the West Chester University football team, and first responders. The teams will snap the ball, and execute the touchdown run with the children running down each sideline in front of the cheering crowd on their way to their first Touchdowns! The Halftime Touchdown Run and accompanying festivities have given children and their families indelible memories that they will always cherish.

WHEN: Friday, April 27, 2018

  • 6:00 p.m. – Children on the Spectrum and First Responders will parade throuh West Chester from Fame Fire House to Farrell Stadium.
  • 7:00 p.m. – Dani B, a talented child on the Spectrum, will perform the National Anthem to kick-off the Golden Rams’ Spring Game.
  • 8:00 p.m. – The Audible for Autism Halftime Touchdown Run featuring Ryan and Patrick will take the field with First Responders, and score their first touchdown vs. the West Chester Golden Rams!

WHY: Audible for Autism is a football based Autistic Therapy Program specifically designed to empower and employ persons living with Autism. Their program utilizes persons on the spectrum in every aspect of the day through employment, participation, sharing and support. Placing persons on the Spectrum in positions where their skills and talents can be cultivated and focused to improve and empower their future is our highest priority. Join Audible for Autism, game after game as they continue to provide long-lasting memorable experiences for those in our community affected by Autism.
