–Caring Connection Party Lifts Spirits of Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses–
WHO: Casey Cares Foundation
WHAT: The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization will host a Caring Connection Party at the Independence Seaport Museum to provide critically ill children and their families with a heartwarming and uplifting activity where they bond, meet and support each other. At this event, participants can take self-guided tours to see the various ships and maritime exhibits on display. Additional activities include a hands-on craft, scavenger hunt and refreshments. Caring Connection Parties give families an opportunity to focus on fun and relieve them from thinking about their hospital treatments and doctors’ appointments.
WHEN: Saturday, July 18 from 1-3 p.m.
WHERE: Independence Seaport Museum
211 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd.
Philadelphia, PA 19106
WHY: This is one of the hundreds of events being held for children fighting life-threatening illnesses and their families throughout the Greater Philadelphia area this year. More than 50 people are expected to attend. “We are so excited to partner with the Independence Seaport Museum for the 2nd year in a row. Providing parties like this encourages our families to meet and support each other while having fun during themed group activities,” says Casey Baynes, founder of the Casey Cares Foundation. “It is a break from the reality of doctor appointments and a focus on summer fun.”
