Get Fired Up- Keystone Firefighter Conference Coming to Philadelphia!

First of its Kind Conference for First Responders and their Supporters!

PHILADELPHIA, July 16, 2015 – On Thursday, August 6, The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA opens its doors for the first annual Keystone Firefighter Conference. Events will kick off with a keynote address by ret. Fire Chief Bobby Halton and continue for four jam-packed days of training classes, hockey tournaments, social events and exhibitions. The conference is planned and run by firefighters for firefighters, and open to anyone who wants to come show their support and learn more about this unique and challenging career! Proceeds from conference events will go towards the All Hands Working Charity, supporting firefighter’s health and wellness.

Firefighters have a 300% higher chance of suffering a heart attack while on the job than going about their daily lives— statistics show that heart attacks are accountable for nearly half of all firefighter deaths in the line of duty. The All Hands Working Charity is determined to reverse that number and help protect the lives of those committed to saving others. All Hands Working strives to provide the training and resources to firefighters to prevent line of duty deaths and injuries. The charity’s goals are to reduce the number of injuries and deaths related to health and wellness by implementing nutrition education, healthy lifestyle programs and bridging the gap between sports science and our fire service.

All Hands Working will be hosting a first responder hockey tournament at this years’ Keystone Firefighter Conference on August 7, 8 and 9, featuring former Philadelphia Flyer Riley Cote. The tournament will take place at Oaks Center Ice in Oaks, PA and will be limited to 16 teams with an entry fee of $750 per team.

Along with the tournament, there will be a two day celebrity hockey experience. This will include a skills challenge on Friday, August 7 followed by the celebrity hockey game on Saturday. Hockey fans will have their chance to come out and skate with the best including Kerry Fraser, Theo Fleury, The Hanson Brothers and more.
