CHEF BRIAN DUFFY OF SPIKE TV’S BAR RESCUE IS OPENING FLYING FISH CRAFTHOUSE

Philadelphia’s Soon-To-Be Go-To Spot Is Set To Open Its Doors In Historic Brewerytown On Monday, December 5, 2016

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (December 1, 2016) – Flying Fish Crafthouse is the newest addition to the list of restaurants revitalizing the Brewerytown neighborhood in Philadelphia. The 191-seat restaurant reflects the concept of celebrity Chef Brian Duffy of Spike TV’s Bar Rescue.  Partnered with Flying Fish Brewing Co., the Crafthouse will feature an urban American eatery paired with local brews and is set to open its doors for a Grand Opening on Monday, December 5, 2016.

Located inside The Fairmount @ Brewerytown rental community, the restaurant will consist of a laid back atmosphere welcoming guests with 2 bars. Each bar will offer 12 Flying Fish beers, a curated menu of only the best American craft beers, and top-shelf liquors and wines, while the beer garden will exclusively offer small batch beers available only at Flying Fish Crafthouse, and at the Flying Fish tasting room in Somerdale, NJ.

The restaurant will initially just serve dinner and a late night menu, while gradually beginning to serve lunch, along with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. A delivery and “room” service to the apartments above, and soon to be new apartments across the street will also become available in the early months of operations.

Using the concept of a scratch kitchen, critically acclaimed Chef Brian Duffy will feature a menu focusing on handcrafted burgers and sandwiches that will be paired with local brews from Flying Fish Brewing Co. that will only be available at this “Duffified” restaurant.  Teaming up with local South Philly bakeries and using all-natural, antibiotic and hormone free meat products from Allen Brothers and Lancaster free-bird chicken, Duffy wants to satisfy his guests with American comfort food prepared in the most natural way possible.

“The art of the preparation creates the experience. This is a crafthouse, it’s not fine dining! We are a very close knit group of people, and have personal touches dotted throughout the menu…  we have a burger made for Dana Spain of McSpain Properties called the Gucci burger – spicy and classy! This is a higher level of comfort food… it’s Duffified,” says Chef Duffy.

Chef Brian Duffy partnered with Flying Fish Brewing Co. to create the most environmentally friendly brews and grub. Flying Fish produces a range of beers year-round, along with a variety of seasonal specialties. They are eight-time medal winners at the Great American Beer Festival, the most of any New Jersey Brewery. The Crafthouse will be the embodiment of local, laid back, and delicious. Chef Duffy wants to Duffify each guest’s experience to keep them coming back for more. Duffy is also a big military supporter, so active military, reserve and veterans, as well as first responders with ID will receive a 15% discount every day at The Flying Fish Crafthouse.

“I’ve been approached to open restaurants in Philly, but never found something that I was passionate about. There were 700 breweries in Philly at one time, several in a ten-block radius of Brewerytown. I’m passionate about The Crafthouse because it’s in a diverse, up and coming area. It was almost a no brainer when it was brought to my attention. We’re making a comeback in Brewerytown, and I want to be a part of it.”

Open seven days a week, The Flying Fish Crafthouse is located in the heart of the Brewerytown at 1363 N. 31ST street (31St St. and W. Master), Philadelphia, PA 19121. The Crafthouse is set to open on December 5, 2016 for dinner.  Check out the website  for exclusive offers and to find out about the newest deals at The Crafthouse.
