February’s PR Tip of the Month

Need to gain more exposure for your company on LinkedIn? Jennifer Sherlock, President of Jenna Communications, explains how in this month’s PR Tip!

LinkedIn recently celebrated a major milestone. The social networking site reached the 200 million user mark. Many of you probably received congratulatory messages if your profile was in the top 1-5 percent most viewed. But, with all those users out there, how can you drive more engagement specifically on your company’s LinkedIn page? We will take a look now.

•Post at least once every business day: While this may sound incredibly simple; companies who do this typically reach at least 60% of their followers.

•Keep your content informative: Nearly 70% of LinkedIn members report they like receiving relevant news articles and/or insights from companies. Don’t come off as being too sales-ey because messages that are overly self-promotional are seen as spam.

•Connect with your most prolific commenters: Remember; these people are your biggest advocates online, and all their connections see how engaged they are with your company. This is your opportunity to make a good first impression, and chances are your company will gain even more loyal followers.

•Consider the timing of your posts: Statistics show that LinkedIn posts receive the highest level of engagement in the morning. Remember, LinkedIn is the top networking site for business professionals, and many log in to check updates before they start their work day, which is why that morning post is vital.

By keeping in mind some of these considerations, hopefully you will drive more of those 200 million + LinkedIn members toward your company.
