Honoring Female Excellence at This Year’s Chorus Carrier’s Ball
The founding father of hip-hop Grandmaster Flash to DJ as we focus on the advancement of women’s careers in the technology business. Event to benefit the non-profit, Alliance of Channel Women.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 5, 2018 – The fourth annual Carriers Ball will descend on Philadelphia this year, during the national Channel Partners Evolution Conference, for an evening of networking and ground-breaking awards! Chorus Communications and Colotraq are thrilled to announce the details of this spectacular ball, and this year’s special guest. This exclusive red-carpet event will be held at The Liberty View at Independence Visitors Center, due to the amazing indoor and outdoor space, and the breathtaking views of Independence Mall and the Liberty Bell. On Wednesday, October 10th, guests will experience an exclusive live video and a DJ set from legend, GRANDMASTER FLASH! Flash is considered to be one of the pioneers of hip-hop Djing, cutting, scratching, and mixing. He is also the first DJ to be inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of fame.
Members of the telecommunications community, as well as cloud partners around the country will turn their attention to this innovative and exciting gala, as Chorus Communications will be awarding the top carriers and solutions providers in the industry today with 10 of their prestigious, Carriers Ball Awards. The 2018 categories include: Best Cloud Migration, Best IoT, Best SD-WAN, Best Colocation Services, Best CyberSecurity, Best Channel Manager, Best Unified Communications, Best Mobility, and Best Support Personnel.
Founder and creator of the event, Buffy Harakidas, Director of Marketing for Chorus Communications and Metrospect Events says, “I created this event four years ago as we wanted to honor the innovators and leaders in technology and give back to the channel. Chorus Communications is proud to host this leading occasion once again, in our hometown of Philly, as we continue to thrive as one of the top master agencies in the nation for technology services.” Harakidas and her co-worker, Amy Servis, Chorus’ Director of Channel Sales, were recently featured in Philadelphia Style Magazines “2018 Dynamic Women” and are both active members of Alliance for Channel Women, a non-profit designed to advance careers and leadership roles for women in technology.
This year, donations are being accepted in advance and at The 2018 Carriers Ball for Alliance of Chanel Women, as both Harakidas and Servis, who are in leadership roles themselves at Chorus Communications, are vocal supporters of advancement and empowerment of women. Additionally, there will be two female honorees for Carrier’s Ball this year:
Maureen O’Connell, of Comcast Business, who is receiving the Channel Manager of the Year Award and Stacy Armstrong, of NetCarrier, who is receiving an award for Best Support Personnel. Maureen is an experienced veteran in technology, skilled in SD-WAN sales and implementations and Stacy continuously provides back-end support and knowledge to the channel.
In addition to the live music by GrandMaster Flash, attendees will also enjoy, an Awards Show presented by CoreNexa, a live performance by the South Philadelphia String Band, Philly themed fare, libations, and appearances by Ben Franklin and “Rocky.”
