JerseyMan/PhillyMan Magazine Celebrates its Honorees for the Fifth Year in a Row

Ballroom at the Ben Hosts the

5th Annual Unmasking the Legacy Gala

PHILADELPHIA, PA – (October 14, 2019) In less than a month, the JerseyMan/PhillyMan Magazine will be celebrating its Man & Woman of the Year Honorees for the fifth year in a row. This annual gala celebration will be taking place on Thursday, November 7, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Ballroom at the Ben. Each year the magazine carefully nominates 6 men and women to honor for being the most influential in their professional and philanthropic achievements. For each ticket that is purchased for this event, a portion of the proceeds will benefit two charities that have been highlighted by the honorees. Each of the honorees has chosen a charity that they are passionate about but the guests will be the ones to decide who wins the proceeds by choosing which honoree and charity they wish to support. The top two honorees will then be awarded the proceeds to benefit their charity.

Patricia Gohl has chosen the charity that she is the President and Founder of, called No Dog Gets Left Behind. This charity provides financial support to reunite military personnel with the canines that fought alongside them while at war. The bond between man and dog is not only helpful during those times at combat, but it is also very significant once the war is over. Our war heroes need someone there to help support them on their journey to getting their lives at home back and it exactly what these amazing animals do.

Another mentionable honoree is empowerment and business expert, Jen Groover. Jen is the creator of the Butler Bag, author of “What If & Why Not?”, and has been called a “Creativity and Innovation Guru” by Entrepreneur Magazine. The charity she will be supporting is called Back On My Feet, which combats homelessness in thirteen major cities. The national organization uses running and community to encourage and motivate the homeless to seek independence by achieving an education, employment, and housing.

One last honoree to highlight is Joseph Maressa, Jr. who will be supporting the Community Foundation of New Jersey, which has counseled New Jersey families and businesses on how to use philanthropic funds to target and increase the impact of their giving in the areas that matter most to them, for the past 40 years.

Other notable honorees are Charles Holmes, who will be supporting the Jason Thompson Foundation, Drew Polin, supporting RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association and last but not least, Daria Torres, who has chosen to support the Giving Cycle

In addition to celebrating the Man & Woman of the Year Honorees, this masquerade-themed gala will be hosting a Best of Mask contest. All guests are encouraged to bring their own masks, but masks can also be purchased at the venue for a chance to win the grand prize. During the event, guests can enjoy butlered hors d’oeuvres, top-shelf spirits, live entertainment performed by Double Down Entertainment and a special guest appearance from CBS Philly’s own Ukee Washington as the gala’s emcee.

Some notable sponsors include Tito’s Handmade Vodka which is the charity sponsor and vodka of the night, Primepoint, Alloy Silverstein, Valley Forge Tourism & Conventions, TC Irons, DVIF&G, and Safian & Rudolph who is giving guests the chance to win a one of a kind diamond.
