JJ Bootleggers “Masters of Moonshine” Contest

On Monday, March 21st, people gathered at JJ Bootleggers for the 2nd Annual “Masters of Moonshine” competition. Five Philadelphia-area bartenders were challenged to create a signature cocktail using Ole Smoky’s Apple Pie 70. The judges included the general manager of Time restaurant, Tim Heuisler, the general manager of FARMiCia Food and Tonics, John Connor, and Cristina Tessaro of Khyber Pass Pub. Justin King, master distiller for Ole Smoky, and  Johnny Baker, the ambassador for Ole Smoky, were the the special guests of the night. The winner was Bohdan Darway of New Hope. He will compete in the finals for a $5,000 prize in New Orleans.  Here were his winning ingredients:

Egg white with a bitters float
