A Local Dad is Thankful for his Sons’ Patriotic Spirit this Father’s Day

On this Father’s Day, Bill Person has a lot to be proud of – his 6 sons have all played division 1 college football, and three of them will play together on the Navy Veterans Team in the inaugural Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game. The veterans game will kick off directly following the Philadelphia Soul’s regular season game at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at the Wells Fargo Center.

“Having the opportunity to watch my boys play football again brings back a lot of fond memories,” said Person, who almost never missed a game during his sons’ high school and college careers. “But, it’s their accomplishments off the field as Navy veterans and loving husbands and fathers that truly make me proud.”

The Person Brothers join a roster of Navy Veteran players that also includes college football quarterback Lt. Ricky Dobbs; former Academy kicker Capt. Frank Schenk; former wide receiver Lt. j.g. Tyree Barnes; former defensive end Ensign Jabaree Tuani.

After the regularly scheduled 6:05 p.m. Philadelphia Soul Game there will be a historic ARMY VETERANS vs. NAVY VETERANS Arena Football match-up. The entire Person brotherhood will be participating, with Chris, Andy and Fran playing on the field and Joe and Dan acting as Naval Ambassadors and sitting in the owner’s box with NFL commentator Ron Jaworski and The Judge Group minority owner Martin E. Judge Jr.

There will be a Veterans’ Speed Career Networking Event that will be held at the Wells Fargo Center’s Cadillac Grille from 1:30-4:30 p.m. before the game. Navy veterans Chris, Joe, Andy and Dan Person (still active military) will be involved as mentors for the veterans, wounded warriors, transitioning military members and military spouses as they network with key employers that are veteran friendly and have current job openings.
