FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VETERANS ARENA FOOTBALL GAME ALLOWS CLEMENTON MAN TO HONOR MOTHER’S MILITARY SERVICE

-Veterans prepare for Arena Football Rivalry as part of The Philadelphia Soul’s Military Appreciation Night-

CLEMENTON, N.J., June 19, 2013 – Terrell Lane of Clementon, N.J. will honor his mother, Eva Williams, for her military service with the Army National Guard when he plays for the Army Veterans Team in the inaugural Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game on Saturday, June 22 at the Wells Fargo Center.

The game is part of the Philadelphia Soul’s and Judge VIP (Veterans in Professional) Careers’ Military Appreciation Night that will include a Veterans Speed Career Networking Event exclusively for transitioning military service members, wounded warriors, veterans and military spouses from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. prior to the evening’s events.

Minority owner of the Philadelphia Soul and CEO of The Judge Group Martin E. Judge, Jr., clearly defined the mission of the hiring event as finding employment for veterans.

Afterwards, the evening will celebrate our heroes through the American pastime of football – arena style.

“I wanted to play as a way to honor my mother who watched me play football as a child and now as a young man,” said Lane, who currently plays for the Camden Gridiron Football League under Coach Rasheed Pollard. “My participation will be a tribute to her and other family members and friends who served our country.”

Lane and his twin brother Derrell (both 21) were born the year following their mother’s return from deployment overseas for Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1991. The Highland High School graduate credits his aunts, grandmother and cousin, Yulunda, for helping to care for him and his brother during his mother’s continued military service as an Army National Guard member with the 144th Supply Company.

Lane’s mother, who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), will be present at the game to watch her son play in her honor. Soul owners, including NFL quarterback and ESPN football analyst Ron Jaworski, also will be present at the veterans’ match-up alongside newly acquired linebacker Morkeith Brown, a United States Army veteran who was deployed for 14 months to Afghanistan in 2005.

On the Navy side of the ball, standouts include former college football quarterback Lt. Ricky Dobbs; former Academy kicker Capt. Frank Schenk; former wide receiver Lt. j.g. Tyree Barnes; former defensive end Ensign Jabaree Tuani; and three of the six Person brothers including record holder Andy Person.
