Lou Tilley to Host the 76th Annual Maxwell Football Club National Awards Gala

The 76th Annual Maxwell Football Club National Awards Gala will take place tomorrow at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. Lou Tilley Media will be hosting the event live on ESPN3 for the second year. Lou Tilley is presently a host on the television show Propper Hockey with former NHL alum Brian Propp. Jennifer Sherlock, President of Jenna Communications, is a sideline reporter on the show that tapes Tuesdays at the Double Edge Sports Grille in Newtown Square at 6:00 p.m. The show airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.

The event will feature 12 award winners from football on all levels completed with video profiles. The presenters for the night will feature NFL coach Dick Vermeil, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, legendary Eagles walk-on Vince Papale, former New York Giants safety and NFL Network broadcaster Mike Mayock, ESPN reporter Suzy Kolber, former Eagles running back Ricky Watters, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, NFL Pro Bowl linebacker Matt Millen, former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook and more.

To kick off the night, Lou Tilley will begin a 30-minute special called “Backstage with the Maxwell Stars”. Included in this will be University of Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien, Cincinnati Bengals receiver and NBC broadcaster Chris Collinsworth and former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski.

During the gala at 7:30 p.m., Manti Te’o will be recognized. He will receive both the Collegiate Player of the Year award and the Chuck Bednarik Collegiate Defensive Player of the Year award. This recognition is special for the Maxwell Football Club because it is the first time the club has honored one player with both awards.

The Maxwell Football Club is an organization active throughout the year where it participates with the community and believes that the young are our future. It strives to help the youth see this potential so they become leaders. Each year, the club presents the Maxwell Award to the College Player of the Year which is in honor of the late Robert W. “Tiny” Maxwell.

For the 2011 season, Stanford University’s Andrew Luck won the 75th Player of the Year Award. Luck is a native of Houston, Texas where he passed for 3,170 yards and 35 touchdowns and led his team to their 11-1 record victory. He currently ranks first on Stanford’s all-time career list for touchdown passes, total offense, and completion percentage.
