New Client Announcements:

We’re excited to announce we’ll be working with Casey Cares Foundation, a charity that provides ongoing, uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families. Headquartered in Baltimore, Casey Cares Foundation supports families throughout the mid-Atlantic region, including 103 families alone at CHOP. Jenna Communications will help secure publicity for Casey Cares Foundation so the organization can show how its programs make a difference in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Visit Casey Cares’ website to learn more about its programs, and don’t forget to like them on Facebook and follow on Twitter.

We’re honored to work with Khari Siegfried, Miss Pennsylvania United States. Our team will help support Khari by securing media placements for her about her service platform to become an advocate for adoption. This week, Khari will compete for the Miss United States crown in Washington, D.C. Click HERE to see a full schedule of events. Show your support for Khari by liking her on Facebook, and wish her well as she competes for the Miss United States crown.

New Additions:

Please give a warm welcome to our newest team members. We’re excited to have Nicole Scamuffo (left) and Brianne Loftus (right) as a part of Jenna Communications. Stop by to meet them at one of our next events.

Event Recaps:

On Sunday, June 8, the Delaware Valley Stroke Council held its 20th annual Strides for Stroke 5K Run/Walk. The event, fully planned by Jenna Communications, was an overwhelming success. Nearly 1,000 runners and walkers participated and helped raise awareness for stroke, the fourth leading cause of death and number one cause of adult disability. Also, we owe a big thank you to all our sponsors, including: Parx Casino, Trader Joe’s, ShopRite, Modells, Yoga Garden, EMS Entertainment, KIND Bars and J&J Snack Foods. See Strides for Stroke coverage on NBC 10 and 6abc.

Jennifer Sherlock joined No Dog Gets Left Behind’s founder, Trish Gohl and Lauren Shields at Serrano for Spay-ghetti, a special vegetarian dining experience for a good cause! Funds raised from Spay-ghetti benefited PAWS’s spay/neuter efforts for stray animals in the City of Philadelphia.

Saturday, June 8 was filled with charitable causes for us. Max, a young supporter of No Dog Gets Left Behind, held a dog walk at Wissahickon Valley Park to benefit the organization as a part of his Bar Mitzvah. Families and four-legged friends alike enjoyed the picturesque trails throughout the park. Although the dog walk has ended, Max will continue to fundraise for No Dog Gets Left Behind, and donations can be made HERE.

Upcoming Events:

We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the Phillies for a Delaware Valley Stroke Council charity night on Tuesday, July 22. Join us at 7:05 p.m. for a game vs. the San Francisco Giants. Tickets for the game start at $20, and a portion of the proceeds from sales will be donated back to the DVSC. Purchase your tickets HERE, and invite a few friends to help us “strike out” stroke together. Remember, the Delaware Valley Stroke Council helps educate the community on the risk factors and symptoms of stroke, the fourth leading cause of death and number one cause of adult disability. Additionally, the organization works with stroke survivors to help them navigate the complex healthcare system so they can focus on making a full recovery.

Looking ahead, No Dog Gets Left Behind will host a Dog Days of Summer Picnic on Sunday, August 16 at the North Penn VFW in Glenside from 12-4 pm. Bring your friends, kids and pets out for a fun filled day while helping the charity bring home another Afghan dog to be reunited with a U.S. soldier here in the States! This time, No Dog Gets Left Behind is taking its efforts one step further by arranging to have this dog trained to become a therapy dog for a veteran with PTSD. You can learn more about this new initiative from their online campaign. Click HERE to purchase tickets, and don’t forget to connect with No Dog Gets Left Behind on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you’re interested in sponsoring Dog Days of Summer, reach out to Jen at jsherlock@jennacommunications.com. Packages start for as little as $100.

Agency & Client Updates:

September is both National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Casey Cares Foundation provides programs to help children suffering from both conditions. To raise awareness for both diseases, we’re working with local Philadelphia media members to display Casey Cares mugs on their anchor desks throughout the month of September. Keep an eye on our social media, as well as the morning newscasts to see if you can spot any mugs.

Jenna Communications president, Jennifer Sherlock, was featured on WNJC 1360 AM’s In Focus program with Jack Marcellus. Jen chatted with Jack about the latest developments in social media as well as changes to the traditional media landscape. You can catch Jen’s interview HERE.
