Philly’s Greatest Masquerade Celebration Honors Local Heroes and Gives Back

Primepoint Hosts the 4thAnnual Unmasking the Legacy Gala

PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 16, 2018 This year Primepoint will host the 4th annual Unmasking the Legacy Gala to celebrate its Man & Woman of the Year Honorees. Long-anticipated, this masque-themed celebration will bring together and celebrate 6 men and women who have been the most influential in their professional and philanthropic achievements. Each ticket will be purchased in support of one of the candidates, and the two individuals with the most ticket sales will have the honor of donating a portion of ticket sales to their respective charity. The event will be held at Ballroom at the Ben on November 8th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Angela Parsons, supporting The Center for Grieving Children has been a highly influential leader in 2018. Parsons has been no stranger to adversity. In the past, she faced the death of her mother at a young age and a life-threatening accident in 2007. Despite the challenge, Parsons overcame these adversities. Parsons spoke on her triumph, stating “The doctors told me I would never walk again, would never run again.” Channeling a spirit of determination and altruism, she now serves at The Center for Grieving Children, helping children who have also lost someone of importance in their life.

Another standout name has been David Silver, founder of the Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey. Operation Yellow Ribbon is an organization dedicated to helping the troops through kind acts of generosity, such as sending supplies overseas and planning welcome home events. In 2017, Silver was the recipient of the Wawa Foundation Hero Award, a title bestowed upon prominent non-profits in Philadelphia. Speaking on his love for helping others, Silver stated “The selfish part of me is that I feel good seeing the moms and dads’ happiness and joy seeing their loved ones come home. Besides the birth of my son, there’s no better thing that I’ve experienced than a welcome home.”

Last, but not least is Violeta Yas, a meteorologist at Telemundo 62. Yas is a mentor at Boys and Girls Club Philadelphia, an organization dedicated to providing after school programs for children. Yas was a member as a child, a factor that has inspired her to serve in the community.

Other notable honorees include John Murabito who will be supporting the Johnny M Foundation, Mac Nagaswami supporting  TeenSHARP, and Amy Rudley supporting the Claddagh Fund.

This will mark the 4th year that JerseyMan and PhillyMan Magazine host their celebratory event honoring the most industrious and philanthropic workers in our city. Local Philadelphian comic Joe Conklin will lead the event as its host. Serving on Philadelphia radio for more than 20 years, he is known for his spot-on impressions of Barack Obama, Cole Hamels, Allen Iverson, and Charles Barkley, among others. The best, brightest, and funniest will all be there, and it would be a shame if we missed you. We hope to see you there!

We will also have masks available for $5 – all proceeds donated to the winning honorees’ charity. Also, the best mask will win a special grand prize. Partygoers can enjoy food stations and 4-hour top-shelf open bar as well as dancing and live entertainment. The event will also feature a Tito’s Lounge with custom cocktails. This event is open to the public, but space is limited! To learn more about this exciting celebration and to reserve your tickets today, please click here.
